Russians launch drone strike in Sumy region — several communities are without electricity
Russians launched an air strike in Sumy region using a Shahed UAV on the evening of Tuesday, October 1. The enemy hit the critical infrastructure of the Shostka district. As a result of the attack, several communities lost power.

The air alert in the Sumy region was announced at 20:53. At first, the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported tactical aviation activity in the northeast and the launch of guided aerial bombs (KABs) at the Sumy region, and at 21:43 Shahed were spotted in the region heading west. At 21:47, the military warned of the launch of KABs in the direction of Sumy.
At 22:33 there were attack drones in the Sumy region in the area of Shostka, and at 23:02 the military reported UAVs in the Sumy region flying east of the town of Hlukhiv.
In the Sumy Regional Military Administration, officials reported the aftermath of the Russian shelling. Preliminary information indicates that the attack has left the Shostka, Hlukhiv, and Yampil territorial communities without power. As of 23:45, an air raid alert is still in effect in the Sumy region, and air defense units are working to destroy enemy strike capabilities. Emergency services have begun efforts to mitigate the consequences of the attack.
Recall that on the evening of Tuesday, October 1, a loud explosion was heard in Sumy. Prior to this, the Ukrainian Air Force had noted that a KAB was heading towards the city.
Additionally, it was reported that on Saturday, September 28, Russian forces struck the clinical hospital of St. Panteleimon with two drones, resulting in the deaths of ten people and injuring over two dozen others.
